Residents will be aware that the Number 49 bus sevice was withdrawn. That Service was the only one that served Larch Road and the Abronhill Shopping Centre. Alternative buses that stop on the bus stops on blackthorn Road present an access challenge to elderly people or those with mobility issues.
A campaign is underway to try to get the service reinstated. To that end a letter has been prepaired to be sent to Strathclyde Transport. Please collect a copy at our office, Dee's Rolls or the Abronhill Library. The idea is that if you complete a copy of the letter we will collect them here and post them in. Alternatively you could download a copy by clicking on the bold type "Letter About No49 Bus Service" , sign it and return it to us for posting either in person or by emailing to admin@abronhillha.org.uk.
There is of course nothing to stop you writing to them directly in your own words if you would like to see this service return.
